Guy Savoy's original baby bistro in Paris

About two decades ago, a tired haute scene and French recession teamed up to inspire top chefs to branch out into what have become known as baby bistros: small, relaxed eateries whose menus are designed by the biggest names in the business but the prices are up to 75% below what you'd pay in these chefs' flagship restaurants.

Renowned chef Guy Savoy spun off several successful little spots, the best of which is this Seine-side contemporary dining room with modern art on the walls and a constantly changing menu that hints at a Mediterranean touch.
