A cheap hotel with a view of the Seine in Paris

This is a classically styled Parisian budget hotel with a million-Euro view—many rooms have tiny balconies that overlook the Seine River to the Louvre just across the way.

Of course, this view does come with some attendant traffic noise from the four-lane quai below that even the double-glazing on the French windows can't quite block out entirely.

And it's not just the view. This location is hard to beat, especially for art lovers. The Louvre is just a three-minute stroll over the bridge. The Musée d'Orsay is two minutes' walk down the river. You can be in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Pres or the Latin Quarter in five to ten 10 minutes.

Anything else to add? Ah, yes. The rooms themselves. Most rooms are modestly sized and lightly tattered, with built-in closets and fresh wallpaper but little in the way of amenities (it is a two-star hotel, so no TV or minibar—though there is free WiFi).

A few of the larger rooms are actually quite a sight nicer, equipped with antiques and true old-fashioned styling.

Only six of the 32 rooms do not come with that dreamy view.

Yes, the staff could be a bit friendlier, and the rates are a bit rich for a two-star—but what you're really paying for is the location and the view, not the tired decor.
